A Good Read… NACHA Rules Book
I just received my notification email from NEACH (New England ACH) to download the 2014 NACHA Operating Rules & Guidelines. I have to say, this is good reading!
As you may now, “the 2014 NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines is the definitive source for information about the exchange and settlement of transactions through the ACH Network. The NACHA Operating Rules provide the legal framework for the ACH Network in simple, clear and consistent language. The NACHA Operating Guidelines contain complete discussions of each ACH Network participant type and its role and obligations, as well as detailed overviews of Standard Entry Class Codes. The 2014 NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines has been fully updated to include eleven new Rule amendments approved prior to the time of publication!” There is even a regular edition and a corporate edition!!
For OrboGraph, this information is particularly important as we deliver the functionality of EFT Reassociation for ERA’s in the healthcare payment space. The reconciliation process of payments to remittance information is critical for healthcare providers to automate, as much is done manually today! Getting access to the ACH data can be challenging, as well as staying up to date with the formats and changes of the industry, but NACHA does a great job at communicating the necessary updates.
Here’s the link to the rules and guidelines: https://www.nacha.org/2014_NACHA_Rules. Maybe we can start a book club!
